Boudreaux's Butt Paste®: Kicking (Diaper) Rash & Taking Names

Diaper rash is a nasty beast! It can sneak up on you and suddenly appear on your baby’s cute tushie without warning, even if you’re fastidious about diaper changes.

The best way to outsmart these icky bumps is to prevent them from appearing in the first place. That’s why Boudreaux’s Butt Paste® is game-changer for babies and moms everywhere—it helps prevent and treat diaper rash.

What is diaper rash

Diaper rash is a common dermatologic condition that babies usually experience during the first three years of life. It’s most common in babies 6-12 months of age. Babies with sensitive skin are more prone to it.

What causes diaper rash

The primary cause is prolonged or increased exposure to wetness to the skin.  Other things can trigger symptoms of diaper rash like chafing from friction against diapers and/or tight clothing, prolonged contact with urine and feces and irritation from a new product such as soap, wipe, diaper, detergent or fabric softener.

Causes you might not think about

Diaper rash can also be triggered by changes to your baby’s diet like when you introduce solid foods or if you’re baby is taking antibiotics. If you’re breastfeeding, it could be something you’re eating that is causing your baby’s diaper rash. (Sorry, mom!)

What does diaper rash look like

Diaper rash can vary from baby to baby, so you may notice skin in the diaper area looks red or flaky or its’ peeling. It may also be warm to the touch. You could see dry, raised bumps or fluid-filled bumps.
